The battery provides the electrical current used to start
the car. The car then runs from the alternator which recharges the battery for the next
time it is needed to start the car. It's the battery that also provides extra power for assessories like lights, radio,
CD player. The voltage regulator prevents to battery and assessories from being overloaded
by electricity that the alternator puts out by controlling or regulating the amount they receive.
