Boost your Battery

Give your battery the BOOST!

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Safety Goggles
  • Jumper Cables

 

Always wear safetu goggles when working around the battery!


Jump starting from another car

      MAKE A CONNECTION!
1. Connect the RED cable to the POSITIVE (+) terminal of
the BAD battery.  Then connect the remaining RED cable and connect it to the POSITIVE (+) terminal of the GOOD battery.
 
              GET GROUNDED!        
2. Connect one of the BLACK cables and connect it to the NEGATIVE terminal (-) of the GOOD battery.  Create a GROUND by connecting the remaining BLACK cable to an unpainted metal part of the car with the DEAD battery, such as the engine block on the side away from the battery.
             
 
          START YOUR ENGINES!
3. Start the engine of the car with the GOOD battery.  Next, turn the ignition of the car with the DEAD battery. If it starts,  DO NOT TURN THE ENGINE OFF.   Remove the jumper cables .
